What three questions would you ask Columbus?
- Discussion of "good questions" that lead to critical thinking
(Throughout the trial students have learned that questioning is a skill and that to get to the truth, the evidence has to speak, not just the lawyer.)
- Reviewed grading criteria again
Lawyers- Quantity and quality of questions/adherence to protocol
Witness- Portrayal of character through appropriate and accurate facts
Jurors- Jury deliberation, adherence to protocol, individual statements based on notes (guilt/not guilty role call), attentiveness during trial
Judge- Adherence to protocol (including terminology) and management of courtroom (keep it orderly and keep it moving)
Recorder- Assist with names, swear in witnesses, intro judge, notes
- Trial- Columbus, redirect witnesses from day one, jury deliberation
Everyone continue Columbus notes in journal (graded)
