Unit 1 List of Poems
1- Sound Devices
(8 line rhyming poem that uses alliteration, "ono" words, and internal rhyming through assonance or consonance)
2- Personified Narrative
(15 line narrative poem that tells a story from the perspective of an inanimate object- must rhyme and use dialogue)
3- Extended Metaphor
(8 lines- does not need to rhyme)
4- Ode
(Three 10 line stanzas using an ABABCDECDE rhyme scheme)
5- Imagery
(15 lines- use sensory detail, strong vocabulary, color, and consistent verb tense)
6- Concrete
(3-5 lines- must use a hyperbole- must be in the shape of the topic without drawing actual lines)
7- Acrostic
(your name)
