American Author Paper Bell Ringer- Writing the Intro Paragraph -Reviewed the expectations for the hook, background, and thesis statements for the intro paragraph (used Gatsby and Fitzgerald as an example). Example Was Fitzgerald a 20's version of today's JayZ? F. Scott Fitzgerald's life mirrored Gatsby's life so closely, one could argue that JayZ, often called the modern day Gatsby, is similar to Fitzgerald who has his own rags to riches story. F. Scott Fitzgerald's life experiences play out in the pages and appear in the stylistic approaches of his books The Great Gatsby and the Last Tycoon. - Reviewed expectations for body paragraphs Clear Topic Sentence/Claim Data Point (sourced) Warrant for Data Point Data Point (sourced) Warrant for Data Point Transition Sentence Use of transition words and phrases to improve fluency COMPUTER LAB- Typing First Draft of AA Paper (Draft Due April 15th for A-Day and April 17th for B-Day) OUTLINES are due with the paper and are worth 50 pts.
