Use specific examples and quotes from your textbook, class notes, and class readings to support your claims. End with a discussion of what it means to you to be American. Rubric for Final
A- No less than five fully developed paragraphs
Examples from class readings, notes, and textbook to support claims
Few mechanical and grammatical errors
Fluid sentences with clear transitions
Response clearly demonstrates an understanding of how the class readings help define what it is to be an American.
B- Similar to the "A" paper but writing is not as fluid
C- Similar to "B" paper, but fewer examples to support claims
D- Few transitions, lack of sentence fluency, very little textual support for claims, mechanical and grammatical errors distract from the content of the paper, only three or four paragraphs
F- Same as "D" paper, but less than three paragraphs and/or little, if any, textual references to support claims
