Writing- Students Wrote a 10 Line Poem
- Students used their freewrites from yesterday to create a poem. First, I selected one student's freewrite and modeled how to take the sentences they had written and turn them into poetry.
TIPS-
1. Do not write in complete sentences
2. Eliminate most articles
3. -ing verbs tend to sound more poetic
4. Add modifiers and don't be general
Students went through their freewrites and circled key phrases that gave description. They followed the tips listed above and checked off each poem before they typed it. We had difficulty with the Chromebooks, so we will finish typing another period.
