Bell Ringer: Reviewed different "structures" of literature that represented the Civil War (letters, journals, pamphlets, posters, novels, poems, newspapers)
Shared- Personal examples of these structures and discussed keeping a record of "your story" for future generations

Group 1- Nurses in the Civil War
Group 2- Outlaws in the Civil War
Group 3- Women Who Fought in the Civil War
Group 4- Bull Run and Confederate Soldier Life
Group 5- Free Masons in the Civil War
Group 6- John Brown Raid
Group 7- Slaves in the Civil War
Group 8- Drummers in the Civil War

* Each group received a packet with four articles about their topic. Each person selected an article and recorded notes about it in their journal. Then they wrote a notecard to use while presenting their information to the class.
Reviewed- Presentation Expectations
- 3-5 Minutes per group but individual grades
- Went over presentation Rubric (see pic below)
- Students read their article, recorded notes in their journal, shared their info with their group and decided who would say what for the presentations. Then they wrote their notecards and presented.
** Only half of the groups went today. The other half will present next time.
