* Use the research from your notes and reading in this class. We have used 7+ sources that you should draw your evidence (data points) from. If you have been taking notes as directed, you already have the research and the source information you need to write this five paragraph essay. The Crucible is one of your sources.
Topic: We have been studying the Salem Witch Trials and reading The Crucible. We have also looked at modern day connections through modern articles and videos. In your essay you could discuss the perception of witches, or how their role has changed or evolved in our society, or the treatment of witches. You may be advanced enough in your writing to approach all three of these angles.
Using graphic organizers often makes the writing process much easier and makes your writing more fluent and cohesive. You are encouraged to organize your thoughts prior to starting your rough draft.
Here is the outline I demonstrated on the board:

CDW charts were also provided for students who chose to use them. Students do NOT need to do an outline or CDW chart, but organizing your writing makes the writing process easier, and makes your writing more cohesive. These are tools for the writing process and will not be required/graded this time.
* In class, students should have completed at least two paragraphs. Some students completed all five.
