WHAT IT IS: Dealing with cancer can unleash a storm of emotions, questions, and unexpected discoveries. We want to hear about those experiences. This essay writing contest TEEN WRITING CONTEST is for any teenager touched by cancer either through a personal diagnosis or that of a family member or friend. We want to hear all stories. Have you survived cancer? Have you watched as a family member dealt with cancer? What was it like to watch someone your age go through cancer? Has someone in your life died from cancer? ELIGIBILITY: Idaho Teens between the ages of 13 and 19 are encouraged to participate in one of the two following categories: Current cancer patient or survivor or A friend or family member of someone with cancer awards: Awards will be given to the top three contestants within two categories: FIRST PRIZE - $1,500 SECOND PRIZE - $1,000 THIRD PRIZE - $500 writing guidelines: We encourage you to follow these guidelines for your essay: Please include your name, age and address Keep essay length between 500 and 1500 words Proofread and have someone read over your essay before submitting If sending in paper copy, double-space and put name on every page.
